Some comments from visitors:

The perfect location in every sense.  Having the harbour and the sea literally outside the front door is a pleasure and a delight.  While the cliff walks that can be accessed from Mevagissey in both directions are unsurpassed.  For one or two people who want to enjoy the best the West Country can offer, Ferryman's Cottage cannot be bettered.  SC  October 2016

The cottage was exactly what we expected with a wonderful view of the harbour.  We have had a very relaxing week in wonderful surroundings.  Sept 2016

Ferryman's Cottage is a great place to stay very cosy and relaxing.  The location/ views in Mevagissey is outstanding.  We will definitely be returning.  KW Aug 2016

We loved the position of the cottage,  It was great to walk everywhere, restaurants, pubs, beach.  Never got tired of the view.  We have had some lovely meals in Mevagissey and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay.  CB  August 2016

We love staying at the Ferryman's Cottage as it is so relaxing, you could not want for a better positioned holiday cottage and it has so much character, also the views from every window are fantastic. July 2016

This is such a friendly, beautiful place.  People were kind, helpful and polite.  The free Aquarium and Museum were a joy.  So much better than the maritime museum in Fowey.  Your cottage is comfortable.clean and in a fabulous position.  Just right for walking, people watching and much, much more.  Wonderful week, wonderful memories until next time.  June 2016

This was our 4th or 5th visit:  we love Mevagissey and the cottage.  The view is just so good that we don't get round to reading our books!  The underfloor heating and the towel rail (in the bathroom) are a real bonus.  June 16

Lovely quirky cottage in a wonderful setting.  Magnificent views over the harbour.  A village that still has character and charm.  I&AM May 2016

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ferryman's Cottage.  It is well equipped and cosy.  Given the cramped nature of Mevagissey, the car parking permit was very useful.  We loved being able to walk out of the door and get straight onto the coastal footpath.  We thoroughly enjoyed meals at the Fountain and Salamander.  Can recommend both very highly!  LH   May 2016

Really enjoyed our stay at Ferryman's Cottage,  will definitely return.    C&J G  Feb 2015

This is a lovely cottage with possibly the best view in the harbour.  Very comfortable & perfect for two.  It was great to have a text to say it was ready as we arrived a bit early.  Pity we couldn't have stayed longer!  M&A G  Feb 2016

Great little cosy & romantic cottage perfect for 2.  Great location with easy access to local restaurants & coast path.  Great communication from the owners who were also really helpful and answered all our questions.  We loved Mevagissey - Thanks.  YR  Dec 2015

We had a lovely chilled week in a cosy cottage.  Excellent location minutes walk from the town.  Thank you!  GW  Oct 2015

We loved Ferryman's Cottage.  It was well equipped, clean & comfortable.  On our first night, keen to follow the rugby World Cup, the TV had a problem!  A telephone call to the owners had swift offers of help.  The problem was resolved anyway but John rang the next morning to check all was OK.  Service indeed!  We would certainly stay at Ferryman's Cottage again - we had a lovely, relaxing & comfortable week.  Thanks to both John & Vicky.  SK & PJ October 2015

A totally idyllic holiday in this beautiful cottage - everything you need for a relaxing break.  I can't wait to come back! NB Oct 2015

Mevagissey is one of our most favourite places to be and the Ferryman's Cottage makes our holiday just that little more special.  This is our third visit and it has been just as lovely as our first.  This charming little harbour cottage , with its beautiful views, is the perfect place to be.  L&E H Sept 2015

Ferryman's Cottage is a perfect retreat overlooking the harbour.  The cottage is comfortable and clean, with period features such as the wood burning stove adding to its appeal.  We have really enjoyed our honeymoon in Ferryman's Cottageand would definitely love to come back in the years to come! S&BR Aug 15

An excellent location and Mevagissey rocks!  Very close to Eden & superstores if required. The coastal paths are great with some lovely secluded beaches to explore in both directions - especially south. There is a good choice of pubs, shops, restaurants, cafes and assorted shops in Mevagissey.  Busy with families walking around the harbour, lots having fun crabbing / fishing.  A busy, pleasant hub.  Wi-fi is free in some pubs.  JT July 2015

Lovely cottage, lovely and cosy, great position.  Had a great stay.  Parking being included was a bonus.   PM July 2015

We loved everything about the cottage & area and easy access to restaurants, shops etc.  Wonderful views across harbour.  AM  June/July 2015

Delightful position on the harbour, could have spent all day watching the local activity and the ebb and flow of the tides.

The house is ideally placed above the harbour, and only a short uphill/downhill to level walking.

Walked to Heligan Gardens (lovely visit), walked both ways on the costal path - feeling fitter now!  Very close to restaurants, coffee shops and general store (good vegetable shop too) and all you need in the way of self-catering.

Weather was very kind!

All in all a really good week' and it was just like being in a friend's home.  Thank you.  Y&M Z 12-19 June 2015

Fantastic week at Ferryman's Cottage.  Second time we have stayed here and this time we had good weather all week.  Facilities in the cottage are excellent - the heated towel rail and washer dryer are both a real bonus.  The views from the cottage are amazing, in fact we didn't get much reading done as ended up looking at the view, whether through the window or from the bench outside.  H&E May 2015

Excellent time we had at Mevagissey. The cottage was lovely, and the views breathtaking, people are very friendly and would like to come back again. A&T H  May 2015

We had a lovely time in Cornwall,  Mevagissey was a great choice as the little town is really worth a visit - great shops and good restaurants.  The Ferryman's Cottage is perfect for a stay here, the harbour view is fantastic, extraordinary location.  If you want to explore Cornwall and see lots of different places, this is the right place to come and stay.  NH & DS April 2015

Thank you for letting me rent this fantastic cottage for a whole month.  Ferryman's was a perfect place for my retreat in order to polish up my novel.  I could gather impressions everywhere I looked and went.  The view from all of the windows was just as inspiring as my daily stroll out onto the harbour.  I can recommend the cottage for a lovely holiday or a retreat to any musician, writer, painter . . . . Thank you again.  PT   March 2015

Very homely cottage.  Lovely view of harbour.  People of Mevagissey very friendly, welcoming & polite.  Would certainly recommend friends & family - would be more than happy to visit again.  There are some nice little touches eg walking book, details on tides.  KF  February 2015

My girlfriend and I couldn't have hoped for a more delightful experience.  Both the cottage and its setting are absolutely idyllic.  I will definitely be recommending the place to friends and family as it was just perfect!!  TC  Jan 2015

This is the second time we have stayed in the cottage and it has been perfect.  Meva closes down almost completely after New Year so for somewhere to escape to after a hectic Christmas there is nowhere better for undisturbed quiet.  Will be back again!  Mr & Mrs B  Jan 2015

This was our first time in Mevagissey and everything about our stay was charming,.  The cottage exceeded our expectations and it is positioned perfectly within the village.  Mevagissey itself was the perfect place for us to come and relax and has a great atmosphere - also close enough to places such as the Eden project for the days that we wanted to do something.  Would definitely stay here again and would thoroughly recommend for anyone looking to escape for a few days.  LE and CR Jan 2015

I wanted to write and show my appreciation for our stay at Ferryman's Cottage.  It is a wonderful cottage full of character and decorated and furnished in keeping with its history and location.  We both loved our long weekend there and may well visit again for our next trip to Cornwall. Many thanks and merry Christmas.  C & H Dec 14

A lovely little cottage just perfect for two with fantastic views.  Very comfortable with everything you could possibly want.  Being so close to the harbour made us feel part of the community.  The weather was amazing for September.  All in all it was perfect and we would love to come back one day.  Cindy and Kevin F  Sept 2014

We simply love Cornwall.  It is our favourite place to be and Ferryman's Cottage is idyllic.  We cannot think of a better place to stay when we visit all the lovely places Cornwall has to offer.  Returning for the second year was much anticipated and certainly not a disappointment.  We love it here and  it was worth the 51 week wait to come back.  Thank you.  Lisa and Ed Sept 2014

Lovely, cute, cosy, quaint cottage in a brilliant position overlooking the harbour.  We love Mevagissey and enjoyed our boat trip to Fowey.  The shops and restaurants cater for every need.  Linda and Paul B  July 2014

Ferryman's Cottage is a beautiful base to explore Mevagissey from.  Waking up to the sound of seagulls and the boats was lovely and breakfast looking out on the harbour, amazing.  The owners were very pleasant to deal with and provide all you need for a cosy holiday for two.  Would recommend to anybody!  Thank you so much.  Dave and Amy  July 2014

Although this is the fifth time we have stayed in Mevagissey, it was our first stay at Ferryman's Cottage.  What a fantastic little place and what a view out of every window, straight across the harbour and out to sea.  We will definitely be booking again for next year.  Gordon and Michele S.  June 2014

We had a lovely two weeks in a superb cottage and location.  Could not wish for better views out of every window.  We spent as many hours as the weather would let us sat on the bench outside watching the comings and goings of the wonderful harbour.  We also had a wonderful trip on the ferry to Fowey.  Thank you very much.  Mr & Mrs M. Absolutely lovely cottage situated in the middle of Mevagissey which is a beautiful harbour.  there is so much to do in the surrounding area but Mevagissey is so lovely you could just spend all your time in this gorgeous place watching the boats and people come and go.  We have had a fabulous holiday here.  thank you.  Ed and Lisa.  Sept 2013

A good central location for shops, pubs and restaurants.  Not too noisy as a working harbour:  people very friendly.  The experience of the 'end of Feast Week' was a bonus, the fireworks were spectacular.  Local attractions were easy to find i.e. Lost Gardens of Heligan etc  Enjoyed the ferry to Fowey.  The cottage was a home from home.                             Chris and Julie S  July 2013

We loved everything about Ferryman's Cottage.  The view is amazing even when the weather is less than perfect.  The kitchen is well equipped and having a washer/dryer is fantastic.  Mevagissey itself is an amazing location and it's great having a home from home to return to.  We never tired of looking out of the window and breakfast looking out of the windows.  We loved the cottage so much we often chose to eat in, just for the pleasure of the views.  NB We had a great trip on the ferry -it was a bit rough coming back from Fowey which just made it more exciting.  Two weeks flew by .   The Ds  August 2012

Delightful cottage with stunning views.  Whatever the weather it is delightful to see the harbour, its activity and tides.  Thank you.  Italia and Paul March 2013

We think this cottage is very thoughtfully and tastefully done.  Lots of nice touches that are frequently overlooked in hotels and cottages.  I think these show that you've really made an effort to provide a homely, comfy cottage.  Kitchen well stocked, useful storage, space - efficient layout, lots of nice seating areas, comfy bed, lots of useful mirrors/lights etc.  Love the seat out the front!

Jen and Doug June 2012

We have had a fantastic time in Ferryman's Cottage and have enjoyed every minute of our two weeks here.  The views, the interest outside in the harbour and sitting outside with a glass of wine cannot be beaten.

Once again, many thanks for 2 great weeks. We adored the cottage and its location, the views and the interest that was coming and going all the time. It was one of the best we have ever stayed in and we've stayed at a lot over the last 30-odd years!

 Martin and Fiona  August 2012

A lovely, well appointed cottage in an enviable location next to the harbour of a bustling fishing village.  Our week couldn't be bettered!  Peter and Annette April 2012

Stairs in Cornwall cottages can be a "challenge".  Ferryman's stairs are great - not too steep, not too long, no going round corners, not spiral.  felt safe.  So thoughtful to have towels and bathroom toiletries.  Also washing up and cleaning materials.  We have stayed in many small cottages across Cornwall and Ferryman's Cottage is the perfect cottage in our favourite village.  The week passed so quickly - without a doubt we will want to come back.

Teresa and Vic J  October 2012

Couldn't have asked for a better location.  Lots to watch in the harbour, which is a working commercial fishing port, which brings exciting hustle and bustle.  Cottage well equipped.  A very good base for coastal walks plus many pretty seaside villages.  Parking was fine on Lighthouse Pier but could be interesting in poor weather.  Really enjoyed the cottage and would recommend it to friends.

PP Solihull  March 2012

The whole holiday was stress free from the moment we arrived.  Lovely on the outside, very nice, clean and well maintained on the inside.  Everything you need and more was there with an added plus, a wood burning stove: great for sitting around on a cold night and then up to a cosy bed.  We shall definitely come back.

Mr and Mrs A G from Gloucester  March 2012

Enjoyed our stay-everything perfect, cottage and weather. Judie & Maurice Nov 12

We absolutely love Mevagissey and all its character, shops, pubs and tiny roads.  This is a real Cornish working harbour and it's a dream.  The cottage is perfectly placed with an amazing view.  It has been a true home from home and we enjoyed every minute!

"We have had the most wonderful week, even with the inclement weather.  Your cottage has served as a second home for us and a perfect base to venture far and wide.  We hope to return soon.  Thank you both, John and Vicky.

A cosy, warm place to stay in the winter:  a place full of charm in a great location, made for a great week in Mevagissey.  We stayed in more due to how nice it felt on an evening.  T. L.  Jan 2012

We had a wonderful time in your lovely little cottage.  Pretty views over the harbour and so quiet.  There were some interesting gift shops, great bakery and we enjoyed two evenings in the Ship and the Fountain.  The cottage is small but that made it feel very cosy and it's perfect for 2 people.

Good walks on the doorstep and Eden project not too far - we went there on Boxing Day.

CO December 27th 2011

The cottage is perfect in size, layout and facilities.  It surely has the best position in Mevagissey, facing the sun, right next to the harbour yet quiet with no passing traffic and the continuous fascination of the harbour, its boats, tides and the brave fishermen.

Many thanks.  Italia and Paul M.  December 2011

"We found Ferryman's Cottage very cosy and clean.  We would recommend it without reservation p.s. sitting outside on the bench in the sunshine looking at the boats in the harbour is very enjoyable"

Really enjoyed our November Mevagissey experience.  Idyllic spot.  We enjoyed watching the activity of the harbour from the warmth and comfort of our sofa by the woodburner !  We were very pleased we chose Ferryman's Cottage and wouldn't hesitate to return at a similar time of year and do it all over again.  Fantastic base for coastal walks and visiting other local attractions.

Sarah W Nov 11

This is an excellent little cottage which met my needs as a single traveller very well indeed.  The location is great and far enough from the centre of the village to avoid the noise.  I liked the layout, which suited me well.  I felt very comfortable there.  I had a great week and will certainly consider staying here again.

Andrew S  25 Nov 2011
